If you are mentoring a child in a Mentoring Children of Prisoners (MCP) program, you may be able to enroll in the Building the Foundation course for free. Check with your program manager/case worker. If you have received an Enrollment Key Code, then follow these directions to register to take the course.
1. Create an account for yourself on this website. Click on the green words, “Create new account” in the Login box on the right hand side of the page.
2. Choose your username and create a password. The additional required fields are your email address (remember which email address you are using, so you can check for your confirmation email!), first name, last name, city/town, and country. Read the Site Policy Agreement. Note that you will not be able to enter the password-protected area of the website without agreeing the Terms and Conditions of use of the website, meaning you will need to click the box indicating: “I understand and agree.”
3. You will receive an email, usually within 15 minutes, with a link back to the course. Click the link in the email and login to the website using your Username and Password.
4. You can self-enroll in the course: Building the Foundation (for MCP Programs) by clicking on the course name. The course name can be found in two places on the webpage, either in the box on the upper left hand side of the page or near the bottom of the page.
5. Once you click on the course name, a new webpage will load that states the following: “This course requires an ‘enrollment key’ – a one-time password that you should have received from a teacher/staff person.” If you are eligible for this course, you will have received the Enrollment Key from your MCP program. Enter the Enrollment Key in the box. Click on the button indicating: “Enroll me in this course.”
6. Once you enter the Enrollment Key, then you will be able to take all parts of this course.
Enjoy and let us know if you have any questions!
